A Murrayville man was arrested on child pornography charges after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted a search of his laptop computer Monday, officials said Tuesday.

Daniel Ray Gann, 24, was arrested after an interview with GBI agents at his Murrayville home, said John Bankhead, a spokesman for the agency.

Agents with the GBI’s High Technology Investigations Unit were contacted by a computer repair business and alerted there might be child porn on Gann’s laptop computer, Bankhead said.

Gann was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and taken to the Hall County jail.

The arrest was part of the ongoing operations of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which has made 270 arrests in Georgia the past two years.
