Hall County sheriff's deputies arrested and charged a Gainesville man in connection with a burglary of a residence Thursday.

Scotty Lamar Odom, 36, was charged with burglary and entering an auto.

According to a news release, deputies responded to the 2400 block of Pine Valley Road off of Clarks Bridge Road.

Witnesses said a white male was attempting to enter a neighbor's residence. When police arrived, the suspect ran.
A K-9 unit was called and the suspect was located in a wooded area behind the residence.

Odom is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. The incident remains under investigation.
