An Illinois man died Tuesday after a water-related accident at Lake Lanier Islands Resort Monday.

Sergio Edwards, 21, of Dolton, Ill. was found under a water slide at the park Monday and was pronounced at Northeast Georgia Medical Center early Tuesday Morning.

Authorities contacted the county coroner around 2:30 a.m. after Edwards died. The accident is under investigation, Coroner Marion Merck said.
