A Gainesville man has been charged with failure to maintain lane after a single-car crash that sent him to the hospital and shut down exits 16 and 17 on Interstate 985 for a few hours on Monday afternoon. Pedro Gutierrez, 46, lost control of his 2004 Toyota Tacoma for an unknown reason while driving north on the Atlanta Highway entry ramp to I-985 northbound, Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said. His truck hit a guardrail and rolled over, detaching the vehicle’s 20-foot utility trailer that became stuck on the guardrail, and the truck traveled 100 feet down an embankment.
