Gainesville police have arrested a man in connection with an abduction at knifepoint Monday on Browns Bridge Road. Rene Vargas, 19, of Lawrenceville, has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during commission of a felony. Officers arriving at 2888 Browns Bridge Road learned a suspect had forced a female victim into a car at knifepoint and then drove her to Flowery Branch.
