A Gainesville man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman and also attempted to force her to “perform sex acts in the presence of three children” under the age of 7, according to authorities.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the case May 7. They say Troy Alan March, 35, threw a boy against a wall. The boy had a scratch on his back.

March was later arrested on a battery warrant, but the investigation continued.

Warrants for rape and attempted aggravated sodomy were obtained May 16. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth said the incidents involved an adult woman, who was acquainted with March.

The rape allegedly occurred in August 2018, while the attempted aggravated sodomy allegation happened sometime between Jan. 1 and May 6.

The same day as the rape warrant, investigators also sought warrants for three counts of child molestation.

“Between Jan. 1 and May 6, March exposed himself and attempted to force the woman with whom he lived to perform sex acts in the presence of the three children,” Booth wrote in a news release.

March is still in the Hall County Jail without bond.

Defense attorney Andy Maddox did not return a request for comment.
