Man accused of having meth valued at almost $100,000

A Gainesville man accused of having 2 pounds, 2 ounces of meth was arrested Monday.

Christopher Lucious Jones, 29, of Gainesville, faces trafficking and weapons charges, according to the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad. Jones is also a documented member of the street gang BOS, according to MANS, and has been charged with violation of the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act.

Jones was arrested during the course of a drug investigation, and authorities say they found him with the meth, valued at about $95,200, and a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol. As a convicted felon, he’s not allowed to possess a firearm; he also is charged with violating his parole.

Jones has a criminal history that includes aggravated battery, theft by taking, felony obstruction of an officer and felony fleeing/eluding in Dawson and Lumpkin counties.

Jones was in the Hall County Jail as of Thursday night.
