Locals asked to Stamp Out Hunger with food donations by their mailbox

Letter carriers in the area and nationwide will be picking up food donations today as they deliver the mail for today’s 17th annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

Residents are asked to leave nonperishable food items in a bag by their mailboxes, where they will be gathered and distributed to food banks.

Mike Walston of the Chattahoochee Baptist Association said his organization’s food pantry netted about 20,000 pounds of food last year, enough to feed local families for three months.
