How does the East Hall High School basketball team financially support a trip to Alaska to play in a tournament (airline, hotel, food, transportation, etc.)?

The East Hall Vikings basketball team will be competing in the Alaska Airlines Classic basketball tournament after raising about $8,000-10,000 through several months of fundraising.

Alaska Airlines will provide compensated flights to and from Anchorage, Alaska, as the airline is a sponsor of the tournament, according to Vikings coach Joe Dix.

Dix and the team will be staying in a hotel in downtown Anchorage with other teams from Nevada, Florida and Alaska. The team will head to Alaska on Wednesday from Atlanta, taking a short layover in Seattle.

The Vikings are still accepting donations up until Wednesday.
