Do employees have to wear gloves while preparing food?
Except when washing fruits and vegetables, employees must not come in contact with exposed, ready-to-eat food with their bare hands. They may use deli tissue, spatulas, tongs, single-use gloves or dispensing equipment, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.
Also, restaurant employees are required to wash their hands.
“All employees shall wash hands before leaving the restroom,” according to Department of Public Health rules. “All food employees leaving the restroom shall wash their hands again upon re-entering the food preparation area.”
Has the Cosa Nostra Italian Kitchen restaurant just off the downtown Gainesville square closed?
The restaurant announced on its Facebook page in January that it had closed as of Jan. 9.
“To all our friends and family at Cosa, we hate to break the horrible news. We have closed our doors as of Saturday,” the post said. “We truly appreciate all of our wonderful customers we have gotten to know over the past couple years. You really made it a memorable run.
