Two Gainesville organizations were recognized Wednesday for dedication, hard work and commitment to reducing injuries and fatalities on rural roads in northeast Georgia.

Safe Kids Gainesville-Hall County and the Gainesville Police Department were recognized Wednesday at a Traffic Safety Planning Meeting sponsored by the Northeast Georgia Rural Roads Initiative.

Representing their agencies for this recognition were Kim Martin, coordinator of Safe Kids Gainesville-Hall County, which is led by the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Officer Griggs Wall of the Gainesville Police Department’s Traffic Service Unit.
