Graduation rates have dropped statewide and at local schools as Georgia implemented a new method of calculating how many students are graduating. Federal education regulations mandate all states now follow the same graduation formula to allow for better comparisons between states. Georgia’s adjusted 2011 graduation numbers dropped to 67.4 percent under the new formula from 80.9 percent.
