The last three witnesses for the state are expected to testify Thursday in the trial of Marquis Bonds, a Gainesville man facing charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping. Superior Court Judge Jason Deal instructed the jury to return at 9 a.m. Thursday, after leaving the courtroom after 2 p.m. Wednesday when witnesses in the case did not show up. Bonds is accused of threatening Imam Bilal Ali of the Gainesville Islamic Center and taking a child in a running van in Gainesville on Aug. 22.
