After years of planning for expansion to accommodate enrollment growth and ongoing fundraising to pay for a more than $3 million capital improvement project, Lakeview Academy in Gainesville is only a few months away from seeing a dream become reality. The private preparatory school on Lakeview Drive is on the home stretch of finishing an approximately 17,0000-square-foot academic building that will house the school’s middle school students in grades 6-8. Set to open in the fall for the start of the 2017-18 school year, completion of the addition appears to be ahead of schedule, according to John Kennedy, headmaster at Lakeview.
