Some lakefront property owners are still unhappy with their tax assessments after revised notices were mailed last week, and promise to appeal once more, this time to the state Board of Equalization. Lakefront property owners have said they were unfairly targeted for reassessment this year, which drove up taxes on about 90 percent of those homes. Lake properties rose in value by an average of 39 percent after the initial assessments were done this year.
