An official of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce said Monay afternoon the organization had previously decided to cancel a planned job fair, which had been tentatively set for Monday at the Georgia Mountains Center.

Robin Lynch said the combination of the time of year and a lack of interest on the part of the employers led to the decision.

"We never promoted or advertised it," she said.

The chamber of commerce traditionally holds three or four job fairs annually for area employers.
