Leaning over to assist 10-year-old K’riya Gardner, Gainesville Police school resource officer Joel Carter makes sure her boots fit right. With a $200 limit, Gardner and others led officers with shopping carts Friday around the Shallowford Road Wal-Mart for “Shop with a Cop.” The experience for Carter is an “extremely gratifying thing.”
