It’s not Christmas in Gainesville until the chicken is lit above the downtown Main Street Market. Thursday marked the unofficial start to the holiday season with the annual Jingle Mingle event on the square, sponsored by Main Street Gainesville. Multiple generations from children to grandparents filled the square, enjoying music, shopping and holiday festivities in the unseasonably warm temperatures.
