BRASELTON — A cattle owner has reported finding two of his black Angus cows dead in the Braselton area in the past several weeks suffering from similar injuries.

Harold Edge of Ednaville Road told investigators he found one of his cows dead in mid-December, then another on Jan. 6. The cows had similar wounds which did not appear to be from an animal attack. The circular wounds may possible be gunshot wounds, according to law enforcement reports from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

“The cow had what appeared to be a complete circle cut out around the anal area,” the report stated.

The second cow Edge said he had four four years and appeared to be in good health.

Sheriff’s office officials are investigating.
