Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators are searching for two men involved in a residential burglary at about 4 p.m. today in the 5900 block of McEver Road.

One of the suspects fired a small-caliber gun into the ground near the homeowner, who foiled the crime as it was happening, Col. Jeff Strickland said.

A Hispanic man then demanded the woman’s cellphone and keys and stole her car, a gray 2002 Hyundai XG350 with a Georgia tag AHV9962, Strickland said.

"Anyone who sees the (car) should call 911. Do not approach the vehicle," Strickland said. "The people inside should be considered armed and dangerous."

The man, dressed in all black and about 30 years old, drove southbound on McEver Road.

The second suspect, a white man, was sitting in a white car outside the home and drove away after the woman arrived, Strickland said.
