If a tree falls in a newspaper parking lot, does it make a sound?

The answer is no, at least not one that can be heard in the newsroom. But fall it did.

This massive old tree on Green Street fell during the rainy, blustery conditions Wednesday night, narrowly missing The Times' front door. 

No one was hurt.

In March, a school bus bound for a tour of The Times building, struck the building at a very low speed. No one was hurt in that incident either.
