Iconic oak tree at Hall County school is now history

The sprawling oak tree that gave Lanier Charter Career Academy at The Oaks has been taken down. The school has reached an agreement with an artisan to make a table from it to put in the Bistro, a student-run restaurant at the school.
The sprawling oak tree that gave Lanier Charter Career Academy at The Oaks its name is now gone. But it may find a new life as a farm table in the Bistro, a student-run restaurant at the school. “A local artisan who does wood-working has agreed to make (the table),” the school’s director, David Moody, said Tuesday.
