As local governments continue to clear streets and remove storm debris from roadways left by the ice storm in mid-February, the costs are starting to pile up. Gainesville Public Works Director David Dockery said about $125,000 has been spent on removing trees, limbs and other debris from the ice storm, with another $6,700 spent managing the snowstorm the following week. “These figures include overtime and associated costs, such as additional supplies, fuel, use of equipment, debris disposal, etc.,” Dockery said.
