Interstate 985 motorists can expect delays the next two weeks traveling southbound toward South Hall.
Crews are closing the inside lane from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays as they do shoulder work, said Teri Pope, a Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman.
The work is taking place near Exit 17 and where the DOT is wrapping up a $75 million reconstruction project that involves new and wider roads and a new interchange.
Next week, crews will do the same kind of work on northbound lanes during the same weekday schedule, Pope said.
The northbound work should be finished in two weeks.
