Humane Society to hold another rabies clinic

Due to the recent outbreak of confirmed rabies cases in Hall County, the Humane Society of Hall County will be holding another rabies vaccination clinic on April 19 at the shelter.

Dr. Doug Tanner from the shelter’s wellness clinic and Dr. Fred Ingle from Clermont Veterinary Hospital will be giving rabies shots at a cost of $10 at the April 19 clinic.

As recently as Wednesday, the 13th case of rabies was confirmed in Hall County. A rabid fox was found in the Flat Creek Road area in South Hall.

The rabies clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 19 in the shelter parking lot, located at 845 W. Ridge Road in Gainesville.

More than 400 pets received rabies vaccinations at the rabies clinic held March 22 at the shelter.

Puppies and kittens must be 3 months old for rabies vaccinations. All pets must be in a carrier or securely leashed. No flea dips will be available at this event.
