North Georgia is suffering through one of the worst droughts in its history. Lake Lanier has less than three months of water remaining. Some officials are saying that, without significant rainfall soon, water rationing might be necessary in North Georgia.

As part of The Times’ ongoing coverage of Georgia’s deepening drought, we want to know what average citizens are doing to conserve water. Maybe you are saving the rinse water from your washing machine to water your plants. Maybe you are taking shorter showers. Maybe you are installing new landscape that includes plants that need less water.

Whatever you’re doing, tell us about it. Send an e-mail with your water conservation tip to lanier@gainesvilletimes.com. We’ll run the best suggestions in an upcoming edition of The Times and on gainesvilletimes.com.
