The Hall County Sheriff’s Office will be stepping up patrols on the Friendship Road and Lanier Islands Parkway portions of Ga. 347 at various times and dates in the near future. The department will be focusing on speed enforcement and traffic safety, according to a news release.

Following the completion of construction on the Friendship Road portion of Ga. 347 earlier this summer, the speed limit has increased from 35 mph to 45 mph, “but the Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints from citizens in the area regarding excessive speed and reckless driving,” according to the release. That portion of the road is likely to receive more patrols due to those complaints, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit usually focuses its efforts on areas where there is a concentration of serious crashes, as well as those areas generating a high number of citizen complaints regarding traffic violations.
