After putting off school bus purchases completely during five of the past 10 years, Hall County school officials are playing catch-up to update their aging fleet. At the recommendation of Hall County School Superintendent Will Schofield, school board members this week approved a plan to spend $1.7 million on the purchase of 17 new buses. Short of a drastic downturn in the economy, Schofield told the board to expect a similar request next year as well.
