Hall County’s pre-K program will cost $45,000 to $60,000 in local money for the fiscal year 2017, the school board was told Monday. It will be the first year local money has been used for pre-K. Superintendent Will Schofield said the increased cost of benefits and new staff members who are taking the county’s insurance are factors in requiring the additional money. Schofield praised the program as a good investment.
