The Hall County school system outperformed the state in eighth-grade writing scores, Superintendent Will Schofield said Thursday.
Results show that 81 percent of the Hall students passed the test, compared to 78 percent for students statewide.
Gainesville city system scores weren’t immediately available.
Also, Hall’s regular-education, special-education, black and white students, as well as English-language learners scored higher than the state average for students in those "subgroups."
Latino students trailed the state average by 1 percent, Schofield said.
