Hall officials searching for shooting suspect

Hall County Sheriff’s officials are looking for a suspect in a shooting and armed robbery.

Col. Jeff Strickland said around midnight Tuesday, deputies responded to the ST&T Mobile Home Park off Browns Bridge Road to a 911 call reporting a man had been shot.

Deputies found the victim, 32-year-old Kevin Hicks, shot in the upper leg. He was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Strickland said a man who knew Hicks was in Hicks’ home when he pulled a handgun out and demanded money. The robber struck the victim with the gun before shooting him in the leg. The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash from Hicks and fled in a car toward Browns Bridge Road.

Strickland said investigators have a person of interest in the case but declined to name him.
