A Hall County man was charged Friday with sexual exploitation of a child following an analysis of his computer, according to authorities.

James Thomas Carpenter, 29, was arrested Friday and booked in to the Hall County Jail. He has since been released on bond.

On Oct. 4, Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators conducted a search at Carpenter’s residence, where his computer was seized, according to authorities.

Lt. Scott Ware described the content found on the computer as “minors engaged in sexual activity.”

More criminal charges are anticipated, Ware said, as the case is still under investigation.

An attempt to reach Carpenter for comment was unsuccessful.
