Hall County Superior Court Judge Andrew Fuller will hear and participate in the decision for a Supreme Court of Georgia case Monday.
Fuller will serve in place of Justice Michael P. Boggs for a Fulton County case.
The Hall County judge was first appointed to the Northeastern Judicial Circuit bench in 1993, having previously served as the circuit’s district attorney.
The state Supreme Court keeps a list of judges in the event a justice must recuse himself or herself from a case.
In the case Monday, the court is hearing arguments about a juvenile’s sentence being shortened. The prosecutors in the case argued to the Court of Appeals that the Superior Court “was not authorized to probate the remainder of (the juvenile’s) sentence,” according to the court’s summary of the case.
