Hostile calls coming from the Internal Revenue Service are likely a scam that has resurfaced again in Hall County, according to authorities.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said it has received multiple calls this week regarding an IRS phone scam. The scammers tell people they must pay immediately through a wire transfer or pre-loaded debit card.

Anyone who has become a victim of the scam is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 770-536-8812.
