Hall County firefighters and Jackson EMC responded to a transformer fire Friday afternoon in Gainesville.

The call was to Tumbling Creek Road near Atlanta Highway.

“They had to wait for the power company to arrive due to the area around the fire was energized,” Gainesville Fire spokesman Keith Smith said.

Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said Jackson EMC secured the power to the area and “the fire was extinguished on the pole.”
