The Hall County Board of Commissioners approved a rezoning Thursday needed for the construction of 99 homes off Cool Springs and Chestatee roads in northwest Hall.

Cool Springs LLC is the same developer of the adjoining Marina Bay subdivision.

In other business, officials approved allocating $400,000 to build a bridge along Tumbling Creek Road that would span railroad tracks.

The state Department of Transportation, at the request of Norfolk Southern Railway, closed the crossing last year.
Tumbling Creek was considered a cut-through from Oakwood to Gainesville.

Gainesville city officials have offered to support financing the project, as well.

County government has submitted an application to the DOT for additional funding for the $3.5 million to $4 million project.
