The Hall County Board of Commissioners will discuss how to handle the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s request for more money at its Thursday board meeting.

Commission Chairman Tom Oliver said at Monday’s work session that he would like to put the matter before the Department of Community Affairs for mediation.

Oliver said the commission will also vote to hold a public hearing to discuss Gainesville’s proposed annexation of county islands Aug. 13.

The commission will meet July 23 at 5 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex on Spring Street.
