The facility to replace the old Hall County Correctional Institution will have its grand opening on Feb. 12.

Hall County officials will unveil the new prison, which replaces the 53-year-old facility in use.

“We are honored to be able to provide the citizens of Hall County with a more secure, efficient facility, which will meet the needs of our correctional system for years to come,” Hall County Warden Walt Davis said in a news release.

Construction started in November 2014.
