Investigators with the Gwinnett County Police Department arrested 36-year-old Iniabel Ferrer of Buford and obtained arrest warrants for 44-year-old Jose Luis Ciuro of Buford in connection with them obtaining personal and medical information from six elderly Alzheimer’s patients that were being cared for at a nursing home in Buford.

The investigation was prompted by a source who said they asked her to steal from the victims’ bank accounts once they obtained their personal information, officials said.

Officers went to Ferrer’s home and stopped Ferrer and Ciuro as they were leaving. Documents containing the information of the six elderly people were found in their possession, officials said.

Ferrer was charged with six counts of felony exploitation of a disabled adult and six counts of felony financial identity fraud.

Ferrer currently is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on $68,400 bond.
