Gainesville State College has gotten the Georgia Board of Regents' OK to establish a bachelor of science degree with a major in psychology.

The new degree, effective in the fall of 2012, will offer specific concentration in health psychology and applied experimental psychology.

The core of the program will help students develop a strong theoretical foundation in different areas of psychology and provide students with a clear understanding of research methods used in behavioral sciences.

The program was developed based on student demand and the need for graduates with applied skills in psychology.
GSC will provide coursework and training for students interested in entry-level careers in a variety of settings.

For more information about the new degree, contact Susann Doyle-Portillo in the GSC School of Social Sciences at 678.717.3857 or sdportillo@gsc.edu.
