Ninth District Opportunity Inc. and local volunteers will distribute USDA surplus food at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Army Reserve Center, 570 Shallowford Road, next to Target.

Food also will be available at Gainesville Action Ministries, No. 1 First St., Chicopee Village.

The food will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies are gone. Recipients may not receive food from both sites.

Hall County residents with a gross household income below 130 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible (for example, $1,767 for a four-person household). Anyone picking up food for another household must have a completed permission form, available at the local Ninth District Opportunity Inc. office, or a handwritten permission note. An authorization form may also be found online at www.ndo.org.
