Gov. Deal appoints 2 more local men to state boards

Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed two Hall County men to serve on state boards.

Brian Daniel, president of Carroll Daniel Constructing Co. in Gainesville, will serve on the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors.

The board regulates those in construction contracting and has the authority to adopt rules, set standards for licensure and professional conduct and investigate and discipline unauthorized, negligent or incompetent practice.

Daniel holds a master's degree in building construction. He also serves on numerous boards including the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Georgia branch of Associated General Contractors, United Way of Hall County and Challenged Child and Friends.

John C. Sundstrom will serve on the State Board of Veterinary Medicine.

The board regulates veterinary practitioners and requires each licensed veterinarian to maintain minimum standards of care.

Sundstrom holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine and has practiced since 1969 at Animal Medical Care in Gainesville. He also is a member of the American Veterinary Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and the Gainesville Rotary Club.
