A man found dead Wednesday in a car on Interstate 85 in Jefferson had active warrants for aggravated assault and burglary from the night before in South Carolina, according to authorities.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials released more information Monday on the body found last week on the interstate near Exit 137.

A Georgia Department of Transportation employee spotted the body inside a black Kia and alerted Jefferson Police.

The man was identified as Christopher Gage Frame, 27, of Laurens, S.C., and he was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said Frame had active warrants for aggravated assault, first-degree battery, first-degree burglary, pointing a firearm at another and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

“All charges stem from a domestic occurrence the previous night in Laurens,” Miles wrote in an email.

The autopsy results are pending, Miles said.
