Gateway to Hope set for Friday

Gateway Domestic Violence Center will put on a fundraiser Friday evening at the Chattahoochee Country Club featuring cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres and an extensive silent auction.

Gateway to Hope is set for 6:30 p.m. at the country club at 3000 Club Drive, Gainesville.

Tickets are $75 per person and are sold in advance and at the door.

“We’d be nowhere without the support of our community,” said Jessica Butler, executive director of the center. “Since our location and shelter are hidden for security purposes, the Gateway to Hope event is a great opportunity for us to be able to gather as a community to raise awareness about a serious issue, support a life-altering organization and secure the safety of women and children in our area.

“It’s also a way for Gateway to celebrate our success with the community champions that have made all that we do possible.”

The center is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter and transitional housing for battered women and children, classes and support groups, programs for children, occupational therapy and legal advocacy.

Tickets to Gateway to Hope can be purchased by emailing Butler at jessica.butler.gateway@gmail.com.
