A Gainesville school bus struck a construction trash bin this morning on Lakeshore Circle.

School officials said 25 students were aboard the bus, but no one, including the driver, was injured.

"All students have been transported to their respective schools," according to a statement from the school system.

Gainesville Fire Chief Jon Canada said his department got the call before 7 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders found that the bus had struck the bin, which was parked in the road against the curb.

Gainesville police and Georgia State Patrol are working the accident, which took place in Lakeshore Heights subdivision off Dawsonville Highway, Canada said.

According to the state patrol, the driver was "negotiating the curve" on the road when he struck the bin.

Further details weren't immediately available.
