Gainesville School board to consider disease policies

The Gainesville City Board of Education will have a board work session Monday at 4 p.m. at the central office.

The meeting will include the second reading and possible final adoption of two policies designed to address infectious disease scenarios in the school system.

Previously, the policies authorized students or employees to be removed from school or employment for a period of no more than 10 days. The language was changed recently to state the individual may be removed until his or her medical condition no longer poses a threat.

The meeting will also include regular items of information from the instruction, learning supports and operations departments, as well as a personnel report from Christine Brosky.

Check gainesvilletimes.com Monday evening following the meeting and The Times on Tuesday for more information.
