Gainesville police are looking for the suspect in a Thursday armed robbery at Lake Lanier Club apartments, 1701 Dawsonville Highway.

The suspect, described as a black man in his mid-30s, standing 5 foot 6 and weighing about 180 pounds, approached a resident and, showing him a handgun, forced his way into the victim's apartment, said Officer Kevin Holbrook, Gainesville police spokesman.

"It is unknown what items the suspect took from the apartment," Holbrook said Monday.

The victim wasn't injured, he added.

The only other description of the suspect is that he was wearing a white T-shirt and baggy blue jeans during the incident, which took place about 11 a.m.

"The correlation between the suspect and the apartment complex (and) victim is unknown at this time," Holbrook said.
