Gainesville police officers are searching for three men suspected in the robbery of a downtown package store Friday afternoon.
Joe Britte, public information officer for the Gainesville Police Department, said three black men were able to distract a clerk at Kelly's Kapers on Broad Street around 1:15 p.m. and steal a bag with an undisclosed amount of money from behind the counter.
The clerk, who was not injured, told police two of the robbers were approximately 50 years old wearing blue jeans and one was wearing a red hat.
The men ran from the store and police searched the area but were unable to locate them, Britte said.
