The Gainesville Police Department has earned re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and been selected as an exemplary agency.

CALEA named the Gainesville Police Department as one of its flagship agencies, a title that means the Gainesville department is an example of “best practices” in accreditation compliance, policy development and file maintenance.

The department will receive an award at the CALEA conference in Dallas, Texas, next month.
