A Gainesville taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, and the robbers are still at large.

Four black males wearing blue jeans robbed a driver for Taxi El Palmar shortly before 9 a.m., and fled with an undisclosed amount of money onto Queen City Parkway, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Before fleeing the taxi, one of the robbers struck the taxi driver in the face.

However, the driver did not need medical treatment.

Hall County Sheriff’s deputies used Georgia State Patrol helicopters and a K-9 unit to search the area for the men, but they were unsuccessful.

The incident is still under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
